What’s with the Flourish?

Do you have a favorite word that excites you?

I do. That word is flourish!

I now know why since picking up Marcus Buckingham’s latest book, Find your Strong Life; what the happiest and most successful women do differently. Buckingham gained fame through the Strengths Finder Assessment. Now he has a new one strictly for women. Take it free at www.stronglifetest.com.

I tested as a Weaver. A what? A weaver! This is the person who asks, “With whom can I connect?” It makes me wonder if only children always come out as weavers looking for connection. At any rate, I knew he had me pegged properly when he used the word “flourish” in his description.

He describes the weaver as an individual who is a catalyst and explains, “… like all catalysts, you must bring certain ingredients to the compound if it is to flourish.”

The flourishing life—that is what I am after. Okay now I understand why I weave people and resources together for life transformation. It’s to get everyone flourishing.

Check out the assessment and discover your true self. Then pick up the book for a two-page explanation. Maybe you, too, will find your favorite word tucked into Buckingham’s description and understand why it’s a perfect fit! Then go write a blog!

About Your Flourishing Life

As a child, Marlee Huber loved to ramble through gardens sampling juicy berries and delighting in the heady fragrance of roses. As an adult, she thrills at maintaining a country garden in the foothills of the Washington Cascades. Something happened in 2012 that changed everything for Marlee. She followed the love of her life as he bicycled across the continent from their home in the NW to his brother's home in the Virginia. Ninety days later she came home and has never been the same. After photographing the backroads and hamlets across America--all on auto, she came home and took an online photography course, read dozens of books on technique and vision and stepped out into a new career. Her passion is coaching young people to discover their brilliance. She calls it Life-Themes Coaching and during one nearly half-day session, she unpacks what makes you brilliant and one of a kind. Then she matches the discoveries with a photography session where she tells the story of your life with her camera. In her personal life, she is a wife, mother, and grandmother delighting in her flourishing family!
